The outlet also claims that there is growing optimism within the club that Guimaraes will remain at St James’ Park for the 2024-25 season.
Back in October, Guimarães signed a new five-year contract with the club, including a release clause in excess of £100 million.
The Brazilian has become a key figure for the Magpies since joining from Lyon for £36m in January 2022, making 101 appearances over the past two-and-a-half years.
